A 25-year-old man from Sullivan, Missouri, has secured a $1 million settlement following a two-car collision on Missouri Route 100 in Washington. The accident occurred in September 2024, and the settlement was reached with the other driver’s insurer, State Farm, in late December 2024.

Accident Details and Injuries

Quinton Justin Elswick was driving a 2010 Chevy Traverse when it collided with a 2006 Nissan Murano driven by 68-year-old Linda Ann Clark from Labadie. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, Clark was stopped in traffic on westbound Route V before she pulled out in front of Elswick, who was traveling eastbound on Missouri Route 100. As a result, Elswick’s vehicle went down an embankment and hit several trees.

Elswick suffered severe hip and pelvis injuries, including a closed fracture of the right acetabulum. His recovery is expected to be lengthy, with potential future hip replacements and surgeries anticipated due to his young age. The injuries have also impacted his earning capacity, contributing to the settlement’s significant amount.

Legal Proceedings and Settlement

The settlement negotiation did not require expert testimonies. Plaintiff’s attorney, Rick Johnson of Johnson Gray, LLC, represented Elswick in the case. The settlement, confirmed by Johnson, included $81,100.28 in medical expenses, with bills still being processed by Medicaid at the time of settlement. Future medical costs and lost wages were also considered in the agreement.

No lawsuit was formally filed, and the case was settled in Jefferson County. The defendant, Linda Ann Clark, was represented by State Farm Insurance.
