A $1.3 million settlement was reached for a motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries in a collision with another vehicle.

The defendant swerved into the plaintiff’s lane, colliding with his motorcycle, causing him to crash and sustain serious injuries. His injuries included an open compound fracture of the right femur, a pelvic fracture, and a metatarsal fracture. Liability was not contested, and the goal of the case was to settle for all available insurance coverage as soon as possible, given his injuries.

As a result, the settlement package included day-in-the-life video footage that demonstrated how these injuries affected the plaintiff’s life, medical depictions of the key injuries, and a life care plan in addition to the medicals, photos, and other standard attachments.

The additional cost of some of the items listed above was beneficial in encouraging the defendant’s insurance company to tender full coverage without the time and expense of mediation or litigation. The key to quickly resolving the situation was to complete the aforementioned tasks while the plaintiff was still receiving treatment. The goal was to have the settlement package ready to send off when the plaintiff arrived at MMI. The case was settled approximately a year after the accident, and the client was pleased with the quick resolution.

The case settled for $1,300,000.
