Woman’s Sedan Struck by Denver Police Officer Received $145,000 Settlement
A woman who suffered a concussion in a car accident with a Denver police officer’s SUV receives a $145,000 settlement.
The Denver City Council approved a $145,000 settlement with a woman who was involved in a car accident with a Denver police officer’s SUV and suffered a concussion, among other injuries.
The woman’s sedan was forced off the road in the evening of January 2020, slamming into the Columbine Steak House and Lounge. Tanya Martinez Perez’s attorney claims that Denver police officer Thomas Moen attempted to turn right from the center lane of northbound Federal. He struck the sedan, which was in the right lane.
The sedan was forced off the road and into a parked car before collapsing against a building. The facility’s address is listed in the complaint as 300 N. Federal Blvd., which is where Columbine is located.
Martinez Perez suffered left shoulder, arm, and wrist injuries, as well as a concussion. According to the complaint, the concussion caused post-concussion symptoms.
The Denver City Attorney’s Office declined to comment on the agreement.
